The shared calendar in Sortifyd is a quick way to know what everyone in the family is up to and where you need to be. No more missing out on family events because it was not on your calendar. Now anyone can add or edit an event on the go and everyone will get the update at the same time.
The calendar import feature gives you the ability to thoughtfully organize your family’s schedule by selectively importing events from your various existing calendars into Sortifyd. Instead of having to share your entire calendar with your family (or have multiple calendars shared with you), this important feature allows you to import and share only the events you choose. Also, whether one person in your family uses an Android device, and another uses an iOS device, you now have a way to keep everyone in sync by importing the relevant events into your Sortifyd shared family calendar.
You can add events to your shared Sortifyd calendar in one of two ways: by importing from other calendars, or by directly adding to the Sortifyd calendar.
Importing events from other calendars into Sortifyd
- Navigate to the calendar by tapping the
icon on the tab bar at the bottom of the home screen.
- Tap the import calendar
icon on the top-right of the calendar screen.
- On the next screen that appears, select the calendar(s) from which you wish to import events.
- Select the date range for which you want to import events.
- Select the specific events you wish to import, or, Select All.
- Tap Import on the top right to import these events to your Sortifyd account.
- Edit or Add event details once imported (ex. attendees, category, attachments, reminders, etc.). See below in Directing adding events to the Sortifyd calendar.
Notes:
-
With this feature, you can import events from the Google calendar and the iOS Calendar app. Events from other calendars (ex. Outlook) can be imported to Sortifyd once you sync them with your Google Calendar or your iOS Calendar app.
-
If an event you imported from your other calendar is updated in that calendar (Google Calendar or iOS Calendar app), the event will not automatically update within Sortifyd. You will need to import the event again or manually update the event within Sortifyd.
-
To ensure that you have access to this new calendar import feature, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of Sortifyd by visiting the App Store or the Google Play Store and updating the app manually (unless your app has already been updated automatically).

- Attendees - This field has a pre-populated list of your family members from which you can quickly select those attending. Profile pictures make the calendar very visual and easy to scan. (See Adding family members)

Once Saved, an event can be edited by tapping the icon, or deleted by tapping the

The calendar also has a icon on the bottom-left that pops up a hint note for quick reference.
